Sorry for the long post, I know some others have had challenges reported here, but so far this has been a good system for me. $200 a year vs $60 a month! I had originally planned to go with just SMS notification but the $200 a year for the Secure plan was simply too good of a value to pass up (and first year only cost me $100). My final vote of confidence happened today when I joyfully called ADT to cancel their expensive service. Cellular and battery backup is also nice if you lose power and Internet, which often happens in the rural community where I live. I have mine connected to Ethernet but it is nice to have the option to move it. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Iota. Also bought 5 First Alert ZCombo smoke/CO Z-Wave detectors which paired with my Iota seamlessly. And with a CUE automation, which was simple to set up, my Abode Iota will unlock the door and disarm the system when I turn onto my street, no fob needed (I ended up tossing the key fob in the drawer). All considered, I am very impressed so far. Customer support was prompt - replied with a solution within 24 hours. Had a minor issue pairing it with my new August Smart-lock Pro (which I also highly recommend) but a quick firmware update fixed the issue. I find negative posts from “Ananomouse” reviewers a bit suspicious. Usernames are OK.ĭo not spam your blog or website.
